Before - the guitar studio
The shop, which was previously known as the Guitar Studio, once had a successful school and “Boutique” style music shop.
Sadly the effects of COVID left The Guitar Studio with little if any business.
The teaching studios...
The teaching Studios had become tired and in need of decoration and a deep clean.
The areas had become uninviting and soulless. Far from being an inspirational learning environment.
The shop...
The shop had sold through much of its stock using online channels such as Reverb and Ebay
What stock that was left was not right for the beginner which didn't align with the customer's needs.

With vision we felt that when the school was rejuvenated the shop would follow suit.

We collectively identified areas to improve including, tutor recruitment, tuition fee pricing, shop presentation including an extensive refit. The shop needed to be clean and welcoming. Products needed to be aligned with the customers needs using a number of key musical instrument manufacturer's and distributors.
The DeRosa Music Hertford Transformation
Shop Front...
The new store needed a clean and welcoming entrance. We used a QR code as a quick link to draw people into our site and icons of instruments to give an idea of what we sold and taught.

At night we created a shop and school that looked inviting with vibrant colours and a clear message, Learn to Play, Love to Shop!
The shop stocks exactly what a pupil would need to Learn to Play with fully trained staff members on hand to offer some friendly advice.
Feature wall...
When entering the building the right hand wall shouted out to be a guitar feature wall. We stock a range of beginner to intermediate guitars. A range carefully picked to match the needs of our pupils
Shop Features...
The age and style of the shop has some fantastic features, one of which being a window height ledge. This enabled us to put key products in the eye line of our Hobbiest's, Parents and Pupils
Visual Space...
Having a large media screen gave the shop an extra dimension of space as well as giving us the opportunity to create an ambience with sound. We also placed a beautiful piano underneath to create a clean and visual impact.
Orange Amps...
Orange Amps have a UK manufacturing heritage and look incredible in any setting. The product is incredible and perfectly positioned for our customers needs in this market space.
Guitar Straps are cool...
We teamed up with a UK company Leathergraft that produce fantastic quality straps at really friendly prices. One of our favourite ranges of straps is the comfy range perfect for the learning guitarist.
Electric Guitars...
With an abundance of choice we took the used guitar to DeRosa. We buy used and recondition the guitars and then sell them to customers at a reduced price.

The new school has three teaching studios fully equipped with industry standard equipment as well as large multi media screens. This enables a tutor to be creative and use technology within a lesson.

In all our locations we create vision boards of inspirational artists.

A simple badge, sticker, pen or pick is the ultimate gift for a child to feel proud they are part of a cool group that believes in music.

Build The Team...
Once up and open we were able to start building our team of tutors and shop staff. Having the shop re-stocked and open, pupils started to sign-up for lessons and product sales followed.
Success Stories...
The Music School in Hertford now offers lessons on Guitar, Drums, Piano, Vocals, Saxophone and Ukulele.
Some Pupils learn for fun and others enjoy taking their music grades.

All tutors have to take our Level One Guide to teaching ensuring quality control.

As our shop and school grows, we welcome being part of the Hertford Music community.
the result
We identified that our customer base are Families wanting to learn to play an instrument, or adults wishing to fulfil a life-long dream.
With this in mind we felt a Boutique style shop was not best placed to serve this customer base.
Having put into place an attractive and fully stocked shop we started to tell people by improving social media presence, website presentation, google business listing as well as google ads marketing.
The results to date have seen a huge increase in pupil numbers as well as and a continued steady growth of Retail sales.
Since taking on the DeRosa Music franchise DeRosa Music Hertford has seen record taking results month on month.
