Live Midweek Music – Chris Lord & Her Blues Express

A powerful and raunchy Rhythm & Blues 5-piece, Chris Lord and her Blues Express produce classic jazzy blues. The band is driven by the superb voice of Chris Lord supported by a heady mix of tenor sax and guitar all built upon a first class rhythm section. Influences range from early artists such as Bessie Smith and Big Mama Thornton to more modern exponents of the art like Etta James and Beth Hart. The band cover some lesser known tracks and always keep the night exciting and interesting.

Live Midweek Music – Que Pasa

Resident Jazz Quintet, Que Pasa, will explore and improvise in a range of musical languages, from Jazz, through Cuban to modern and home-grown. Featuring internationally renowned players Pete Lemer on keys, Paul Robinson on drums, Steve Cook on bass, with Adam Amor on sax and brilliant trumpet player Paul Higgs. Between them they have worked with acts such as Nina Simone, Grace Jones, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Ginger Baker, Mike Oldfield, The BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and the Royal Shakespeare Company. The best genre from the best in the business.

Stortford Soul & Motown Night

Dance the night away at Rhodes this April to the very best Soul and Motown sounds. Five hours of non-stop music await you in an evening sure to get you on your feet featuring the Motown Nights band. The night guarantees the very best in soul, absolutely live as well as top international DJ’s from London, Manchester, Detroit and New Orleans. The evening will see a mix of Motown, Soul and Stax records. Doors open at 7pm with a bar until midnight.

Opera Boys

Leading men from London’s West End combine in a powerhouse of vocal harmony to deliver a stunning blend of music ranging from Opera to Pop, and everything in between.
Operatic arias and classical favourites from ‘Nessun Dorma’ to ‘Time to say goodbye’ are mixed with showstoppers from ‘Les Miserables’ and ‘Phantom of the Opera’ right through to ‘Jersey Boys’. The show also features brand new classical arrangements of modern day pop hits, all performed in The Opera Boys inimitable style.
