Teaches: Guitar, Band, Song Writing
Steve’s music career started in 1996 after joining London based rock band ‘Rehab’ signed to ZTT/Warners. After recording an album and extensive touring Steve went on to appear on TV shows including TOTP’s, CD:UK, MTV, T4 and many more working as a session guitarist with artists such as Lionel Richie, Peter Andre, Delta Goodrem & Gareth Gates
In 2007 he was offered the job of touring guitarist for 90’s Pop sensation Darren Hayes, the former Savage Garden front man. Here began a 5 year period of countless worldwide concerts, TV and Radio shows. Venues included The Royal Albert Hall, Wembley Arena, Shepherds Bush Empire, Sydney State Theatre and dates across Europe, USA and Australia. Steve eventually went on to become a writer and recording artist on Darren’s 2012 Album – Secret Codes & Battleships – co-writing the opening track – ‘Taken By The Sea’
Hot on the heels of this Steve then joined forces with West End Superstar – Ramin Karimloo (Phantom, Les Mis, Miss Saigon). Starting as his guitar mentor he eventually became Co-Writer, Co-Founder and MD of Ramin’s band – The Broadgrass Band. A clever mash up of Country, Bluegrass and Musical Theatre. After a successful run of shows in the UK, AISA & the USA, Broadway World awarded Ramin & The Broadgrass Band – Best Live Act 2013
A life long fan of Acoustic Pop, Blues & Country music the opportunity to create a solo project finally came along in late 2013 when Steve started writing his own solo material whilst working as a Troubadour on Scandinavian Passenger Ships.
Some of these songs appear on his Debut EP ‘Little Things’ released in October 2014. The EP was launched live in New York City at the Rockwood Music Hall (Nov 2014) and The Bedford in Balham – London (Jan 2015)
Since then the EP has sold in the USA, Canada, Australia, Japan, Italy, Norway & UK. Continued promo has seen performances on BBC Radio Essex, BBC Radio 3CR, BBC Introducing, The Country to Country Festival – London O2, The Edinburgh Fringe, Rhythms Of The World & headline/support slots around the UK.
Along with all the above Steve has been teaching since with DEROSA when it was known as Playsomething since 2008. He then took a 3 year break in 2012 as he was needed on countless tours. He has been back with DEROSA since Easter 2015.
DEROSA, based in Bishop’s Stortford, is a leading institute in contemporary music. At DEROSA we offer lessons in drums, piano, guitar, bass, vocals, ukulele, band and now saxophone, clarinet and flute. We also offer services to Primary education.
