Drum teacher Matt began playing drums in 2003 and has been on the live music scene since 2006, gaining plenty of experience performing with a variety of both original and function bands in hundreds of venues up and down the country.
In 2012 and 2013 Matt recorded drums and featured in music videos for Chasing Cadence with the songs “Accidents Will Happen” and “Young”. More recently he laid down the drums for St.Clair’s debut E.P “All love songs”.
After passing his grade 8 exam in 2008 and gaining a diploma in Music Practice, Matt went on to study at the University of Hertfordshire, gaining a Bachelor of Science with Honours degree in Commercial Music Composition and Technology. During this time he began his teaching career, taking on students of all ages and ability and using his keen sense of musicianship, gained from his experience in live events, to mould his students into true performers.
Matt currently teaches drums at DEROSA in Bishops’s Stortford, as well as schools in the local area.
DEROSA, based in Bishop’s Stortford, is a leading institute in contemporary music. At DEROSA we offer lessons in drums, piano, guitar, bass, vocals, ukulele, band and now saxophone, clarinet and flute. We also offer services to Primary education.
