The Casio GP500 in Polished Black is the ultimate in our Piano Range.
This Piano has been designed in partnership with the renowned Piano Manufacturer Bechstein
This piano is the flagship model in the latest Casio hybrid piano range. You get the same austrian Spruce piano mechanism as on all the Grand Hybrids, but with the 500 you get some seemingly subtle additions but they make a big difference to the playing experience.
Like all pianos’ its best to come in & try one in our piano showroom, that way you can get the full experience described here.
At the heart of this piano are three legendary Pianos, their individual character and tone faithfully recreated for you at home. Three pianos that originate in Berlin, Hamburg and Vienna were chosen for this project. CASIO has carefully researched and analyzed the unique characteristics of each of the three pianos. It’s like owning three of the best in the world today.
To achieve optimal authenticity of each main piano voice, CASIO has installed appropriate settings for each of the three grand piano tones. The main Berlin Grand sound was developed in collaboration with C. Bechstein taken from the Bechstein D282 grand piano. This model is considered as their ultimate masterpiece grand piano. Casio developed multi-dimensional morphing capturing the volume and quality of sounds as they would naturally change from the time the keys are struck until they decay on an acoustic piano. This technology contributes to more expressive performances being available to the player.
Grand Pedal System This function continuously senses the position of the damper pedal enabling fine-tuning control of the damping volume and note length depending on the degree of pedal depression. You also get Half Pedal Position control which adjusts the depression position at which the damping effect comes into effect.
Mechanical sounds The Action Sound System can recreate the various mechanical noises that an acoustic piano mechanism makes during normal operation. These include Damper Noise, Pedal Action Noise & other of the more subtle operating sounds on an acoustic grand piano. Technology has brought the complex world of piano sound a significant step closer to everyone with this Casio/Bechstein Grand hybrid piano.
The GP500 has a real party piece which is completely unique. The piano has a feature called scene memory which sets up the entire playing experience for a classic piano being played in a classic venue – as close as we can get to the conditions that the original composer would have experienced.
You have total control over each element within these settings but Casio have added some presets for you to enjoy from day 1. These thoughtfully designed examples let you interact with the history of piano music. Select the name of a famous composer, and you will be presented with an instrument customized to suit their music and a venue where their music might have been performed.
