So today all the hard work of the week paid off as the music students got to play in groups to end off this week's Summer School.
The students worked hard during the week to learn different genres of music including Reggae, Blues, Pop and Rock and today they got to enjoy playing together with other musicians.

Day 4 - Rock 'n Roll!

Day 3 - Today, our pupils are focusing on pop music as a genre. Pop music originated during the 1950's and 1960's, deriving from rock and roll. Pop songs have a good rhythm, a catchy melody, and are easy to remember and sing along to. They usually have a chorus that's repeated several times and two or more verses. On 24th July DEROSA's piano, woodwind and vocal pupils performed at the Charis Centre for their End of Term concert.

Pupils Concert number 1.
On the 14th July 2016 DEROSA's band and acoustic students took over the lounge bar and the Rhodes Theatre. This was a new and exciting venue for them to be in. As well as playing to many more members of the public they all still wanted to impress their guests.

DEROSA's Summer Music School with be the 1st - 6th August 2016.
This year Summer School covers all instruments in groups or as a 1-1 and even band classes. With the choice of morning or afternoon sessions we can cater for all. Each session is 2 hours long.

Drum Teacher Matt Chivers at DEROSA music kept something very quiet. He had been going to Meet and Jam nights where you "jam" with other musicians. What he didn't tell us was that he was on his way to the 100 club.
