Day 5 - And in the end... So today all the hard work of the week paid off as the music students got to play in groups to end off this week's Summer School. Day 4 - Rock 'n Roll! In today's sessions our young musicians are learning the art of rock 'n roll. The song they are focusing today is Bastille's "Pompeii". Day 3 - Today, our pupils are focusing on pop music as a genre. Pop music originated during the 1950's and 1960's, deriving from rock and roll. Pop songs have a good rhythm, a catchy melody, and are easy to remember and sing along to. They usually have a chorus that's repeated several times and two or more verses. Day 1. We are excited that Summer School 2016 has officially started this morning! Pupils are enjoying 2 hour sessions each day in either guitar, drums or piano from DeRosa's great teachers, Matt, Jake and Deborah.
